What are Cloud Apps
Cloud apps (Web apps) are applications which for the most part are running entirely online. There is no software to install on your local computer. Click here for a great explanation (need an HTML 5 compliant browser to view properly) I have several menus , each containing all kinds of applications that are entirely free. They run the gamut from Wordprocessors, to Image Editors, to off site file storage.
Originally, the Internet was a place to locate information - mainly a "Read Only Web." As the Internet slowly changed, web sites were developed that let people "write" and share information. Many Web 2.0 apps provide a creative way for students to communicate with others something they cannot do with traditional standalone computer applications. They allow students to work collaboratively on many different projects. Communication, creativity and collaboration make Web Apps a great choice for student learning.
